Opus 4’s New Office Leaves Visitors Shaken, But Not Stirred

Opus 4, Tameside’s award winning design and build fit out contractor has completed a top-to-toe office office refurbishment of it’s Stalybridge offices. The makeover comes off the back of a record breaking year, which has seen turnover more than double in a 12 month period.
Daniel Blackburn, MD of Opus 4 commented: “After being in the Bank Building for just over a year, we’ve had to completely transform our workspace to accommodate new starters to the majority of our teams. This gave our Designers the chance to inject a bit of our own personality into the office”.
The team opted for themed meeting rooms on each floor and after an animated debate, the top floor became home to ‘The Wonka Room’. A 3D textured wall feature, multi-coloured LED light display, hanging sweet jars and a special quote from Mr Wonka himself, have made the room a hit with visitors.
The basement had been something of a dumping ground, with several brick built rooms filled with leftover materials from jobs. Despite this, the area contained what many people felt was the building’s best feature – the original bank vaults and their solid metal doors. The bank vault became another themed meeting room and something of a favourite amongst the men of the office: The Bond Room.
The rest of the basement was transformed into a staff social space, with pool table, communal dining area and a casual lounge space. Pool tournaments are a regular event in the basement, which has now been renamed The Vault.
The refurbishment gave us the opportunity to showcase some exciting new furniture products. Not least, the new ‘Ray’ desking range from the design-led Italian manufacturer, Uffix. The slick bench desk features an angled graphite leg with a matching, angles screen detail, which contrasts perfectly against the white tops.
More than 60 guests turned up for a Grand Opening Party, with a pop-up bar installed serving award-winning local beer from Tweed Brewing Co. Local entrepeneur and SEO expert, Jo Booth commented: “A party invitation arrived in the form of a golden ticket, hidden in a bar of Wonka Chocolate. I love what the Opus team have done with their office. It shows you can be professional, creative and fun at the same time”.
