Nando’s Leicester

Nando’s has become a household name in the UK as our fastest-growing restaurant chain. One of Opus 4’s more recent clients, we have completed five projects in the last 18 months. ‘The Tree House’ was a brand-new concept which aimed to provide a regional location (above an existing restaurant in Leicester) where important meetings and training sessions for staff could take place, without the need to travel to the head office in London.

The Tree House would also double up as a social space for staff working in the restaurant below. The project involved close collaboration with Nando’s in-house property team, who adopt a creative, themed approach to the design of the company’s many restaurants.

We focused on the company’s South African roots with tribal prints and dark wood finishes to the furniture. A contemporary twist was added with picnic benches for meeting tables and AstroTurf flooring, and a funky, branded pool table with orange felt. The success of the project led to more work, including a project at their London head office.

We make useful areas
out of wasted spaces.

“Opus 4 took an unloved, wasted space and had the vision to transform it into a brilliant training and meeting hub. The Tree House has the character and hallmarks of our restaurants and has been very popular with our staff.”

– Paul Finlay, Regional Property Manager at Nando’s
