A Night Of Sex & Love & Rock & Roll

A Night Of Sex & Love & Rock & Roll

Who fancies an evening of Sex & Love & Rock & Roll?

On the 29 April, Opus4 will be supporting its partner charity, Forever Manchester, by sponsoring an Evening with Tony Walsh, at the Frog & Bucket on Oldham Street, Manchester.

Tony Walsh, otherwise known as ‘Longfella’ is one of the country’s leading performance poets and has wowed audiences with his unique take on British culture.   As a proud Mancunian, Tony is Forever Manchester’s Poet In Residence and is never more at home when he’s performing his poems about the city he loves.  It was one such piece, ‘This Is The Place’, which inspired Opus4 to become Forever Manchester ambassadors.

That’s the point about Tony’s work.  When he delivers his words to a live audience, he has the power to inspire and re-affirm your outlook on life.  As one reviewer said after his stint as Poet In Residence at Glastonbury:

“Some poets can make you laugh, a few can make you cry but only a handful can do both.  By all accounts, Tony Walsh is one such poet taking audiences on a rock ‘n’ rollercoaster ride from comedy to tragedy, from the deadly serious to the seriously deadly. Splitting your sides AND breaking your heart. This guy should come with a health warning!”

If you’ve never heard performance poetry before, come along and see the best in the business.  The show starts at 6pm and finishes at 8pm.  Also performing on the night will be Marvin Cheeseman, a Manchester based comedy-poet.

Tickets are priced at £10 each, with all proceeds going to Forever Manchester.
