Clerkenwell Design Week runs from 23-25 May, with the great and the good from the world of commercial design showcasing their latest products.   There are more creative businesses, manufacturers and architects per square mile in Clerkenwell than anywhere else on earth.  For Design Week, they open their doors to the industry and give a fascinating insight into the new trends and products which they predict will shape the future workplace.

Opus4 will be attending Clerkenwell Design Week and reporting back on the best products.  Here is a preview of some of the exciting new furniture ranges which will feature at the various showroom events and exhibitions:

FROVI

The Cotswold based specialist in social space furniture will be showcasing the ILK two seater sofa.  The chic slimline sofa comes in a choice of high and low backs, with either wooden legs or a contemporary sled base.   The elegant contours and rounded edges give the ILK a soft but refined look which is sure to prove popular in reception areas and social hubs.

OCEE DESIGN

Ocee Design has rapidly expanded its portfolio of soft seating, acoustics and casual designing products recently.  Their Old Street showroom is certain to be one of the most visited venues during Design Week.

Their Connaught range of sofas and armchairs may not be new.  But dressed in some of the latest fabrics from Bute, Kvadrat and Svensson, offered with a striking contrast button detail it shows how amore established range of furniture can be brought to life with innovative design ideas.

ALLERMUIR

The challenge of improving acoustics in the open plan workplace will be addressed at Clerkenwell this year more than ever before.  The majority of the leading furniture brands now have solutions in their product portfolios, but nobody does it with more panache than Allermuir.

The Lancashire-based manufacturer – part of the Senator Group – has launched a stunning range of design-led acoustic products.  Named Baudot, after the binary code made up of zeroes and strings, the range beautifully combines form and function.  We particularly love the free standing Baudot Strings, dressed in colour-complementing mixed fabrics.

BOSS DESIGN

Boss Design, alongside sister brands, Lyndon Design and Komac, have been renowned designers of intelligent, functional modular furniture ranges.  At CDW 2017 they will be launching an exciting new modular range designed to offer totally flexible, acoustic work solutions in open plan areas.   Shapes can be created to allow workspaces, meeting areas, quiet pods and dining areas, to accommodate different numbers.
