Opus4 got to experience life on the tracks this week, when our Designer, Sarah Haigh, visited the Siemens Ardwick Traincare Facility in Manchester.

As guests of our long standing client, First TransPennine Express, Sarah got the opportunity to step into the driver simulator and experience what it’s like to drive one of FTPE’s new electric trains on their many routes across northern England.

Sarah said: “I’ve never been in a simulator before and couldn’t believe how realistic it was. The instructor told me that in the event of an emergency, I’d now be able to drive a train in a real situation!”

Opus4 is First TransPennine Express’ Contract Partner of the Year and designs, manages and fits out their workspace at offices and train stations throughout the north of England.
