Daniel Managing Director & Commercial Director

Daniel leads Opus 4 as Managing Director and Commercial Director, with a passion for engaging clients and helping them see the transformative opportunities a new workspace can provide. He thrives on showing clients what’s possible and creating environments that exceed their expectations.

One of Daniel’s proudest projects is SmartSearch. The strong client relationship made the journey a pleasure, and the project’s scale and design intent were game changers for Opus 4. It became a springboard for attracting similar clients and significantly grew the team’s confidence and expertise.

A typical day for Daniel involves travelling across the UK, meeting with clients, pricing new projects, and collaborating with both the marketing and delivery teams.

His favourite part of the Opus 4 office? The collaborative zones, such as booths, meeting rooms, Zoom spaces, and breakout areas, which reflect the company’s flexible and agile approach.

Outside of work, Daniel enjoys clay pigeon shooting (he’s improving!), has an interest in horology, and a passion for anything on wheels. His dream superpower? Time travel.

A fun fact about Daniel: as a student, he built Kawasaki motorbikes—a fact his friends and colleagues would easily believe!

Dave Operations Director

Dave is the Operations Director at Opus 4 and is also involved in sales. He loves the variety his role brings, from working with different departments across the team to engaging with regular clients. For Dave, no two days are ever the same, which keeps things exciting.

One of Dave’s proudest projects is Opus 4’s own office transformation. The team purchased the building before it went to auction and completely overhauled it in a short time, creating something truly special. It marked a significant step forward for the business and continues to showcase to new clients what Opus 4 is capable of.

A typical day for Dave is never typical, which is exactly what he enjoys.

His favourite part of the Opus 4 office? While he appreciates the flexible workstations, he prefers having his own desk—it’s his space amidst the dynamic environment.

Outside of work, Dave enjoys spending time with friends and family, watching films, live music, and sport (especially anything involving a ball). He’s a keen runner and has a love for cars. His dream superpower? Time manipulation, which he believes is the most valuable thing in life as you get older.

Ian Finance Director

Ian is the Finance Director at Opus 4, responsible for overseeing the company’s finances and providing management information that supports effective decision-making.

One of Ian’s proudest achievements is developing the management account package, including the Profit & Loss statement, Balance Sheet, Cashflow, and Billing Forecast, giving the board concise and essential insights.

Ian’s workspace offers stunning views of fields leading to Ludlow Castle, though the local wildlife and farm animals can sometimes be a distraction!

Outside of work, Ian enjoys countryside walks, cafes, and pubs. His dream superpower? The gift of hindsight.

A fun fact about Ian: he competed in the English Schools Championships for pole vault and once faced off against Daly Thompson.

His favourite advice is: “It’s better to say nothing and appear stupid than to open one’s mouth and remove all doubt.“

Denise Finance Manager

Denise is the Finance Manager at Opus 4 and has been a vital part of the team for an incredible 22 years. She loves her role as a whole and the impact her work has on the company.

Although Denise isn’t directly involved in projects, she takes pride in being part of all of them by supporting the team behind the scenes.

A typical day for Denise is busy and fast-paced, reflecting the demands of her role.

Her favourite part of the office is her workspace setup. A desk with a view is always a bonus!

Outside of work, Denise is a true thespian at heart, she enjoys watching performances and staying connected to the theatre world.

Sarah Head of Design

Sarah leads the design team at Opus 4, combining creativity and collaboration to bring clients’ visions to life. She loves meeting new clients and working closely with her team to deliver exceptional designs.

Her favourite project is SmartSearch, a standout experience where she was able to fully showcase her design expertise and creativity.

Cheryl Senior Interior Designer

Cheryl is a Senior Interior Designer at Opus 4. What she enjoys most about her role is that every day is different, with the opportunity to meet new people and work on unique projects.

The project Cheryl is most proud of is the new Opus Manchester office. Although it’s still in its early stages, it feels like a bigger challenge because it’s personal to the business and will bring exciting changes.

A typical day for Cheryl is varied, ranging from meeting clients and taking briefs to designing in the office or visiting project sites.

Her favourite part of the Opus 4 office? The tall table on the ground floor—it’s the most social spot and, importantly, where all the good snacks are found!

Outside of work, Cheryl loves being outdoors. Whether it’s swimming, mountain biking, or spending time with family and friends, she’s happiest in nature. Her dream superpower? The ability to fly.

Amy Interior Designer

Amy is one of five talented designers at Opus 4. She works on her own projects while also supporting senior designers with theirs. Her favourite part of the job is seeing spaces come to life and witnessing the clients’ reactions.

Two projects Amy is particularly proud of are AND Digital, where she took on a front-seat role for the first time, and Hattons of London, a creative yet challenging project that turned out exceptionally well.

A typical day for Amy varies greatly, from full days in the office working on 2D and 3D designs to visiting clients for briefs or site visits. She also enjoys meeting with suppliers to explore new ideas and materials.

Her favourite thing about the Opus 4 office is its diversity—it’s far from bland, with plenty of flexible spaces to work in, offering variety and inspiration throughout the day.

Outside of work, Amy loves walks in nature to escape the hustle and bustle, with her most recent adventure taking her to Pistyll Rhaeadr in Wales. She’s also passionate about art, always picking up a pencil when she has time.

Amy’s dream superpower is a toss-up between stopping time to savour moments and talking to animals.

Emily Interior Designer

Emily is an Interior Designer at Opus 4, where she thrives on creativity and the variety her role offers—no two days are ever the same.

The project Emily is most proud of is Digital ID, where she contributed to creating a dynamic and functional space for the client.

A typical day for Emily can involve anything from site surveys and space planning to visualising clients’ spaces, presenting designs, or adding the finishing touches at the end of a project. She loves collaborating with her team to see a project through from start to finish.

Outside of work, Emily enjoys spending time with friends and indulging in a bit of shopping. Her dream superpower? Flying, so she can go wherever she wants, whenever she wants.

Ella Interior Designer

Ella is a Junior Interior Designer at Opus 4. Her favourite part of the job is seeing the designs she works on come to life and transform into reality.

The project Ella is most proud of is the new office, where she played a key role in shaping the designs.

A typical day for Ella involves designing, surveying, liaising with clients, and plenty of teamwork, something she enjoys about working at Opus 4.

Her favourite part of the office? The collaboration areas, which create space for ideas to flow and teams to connect.

Outside of work, Ella loves exploring new cities and cultures. She’s always planning her next trip and usually has one booked at any given time. Her dream superpower? The ability to read people’s minds.

Tammy Project Coordinator

Tammy is a Project Coordinator at Opus 4. Her role involves supporting project managers by ordering everything needed for sites, from flooring to skips. She enjoys working closely with the team to ensure every project runs smoothly.

As Tammy works behind the scenes, she’s proud of being involved in all the projects she supports.

A typical day for Tammy starts with logging on and addressing any emails related to site requirements, with her tasks varying day to day.

Her favourite part of the office is her own workspace.

Outside of work, Tammy stays busy with her two children. They enjoy family activities such as eating out, bowling, and taking trips together.

Mike T Senior Contracts Manager

Mike is a Senior Contracts Manager at Opus 4, currently overseeing the RWE Staythorpe project. His role involves site management and project management, coordinating with multiple client project managers, independent contractors, and managing daily permits and health & safety requirements. He thrives on problem-solving and ensuring every project is delivered to the highest standard.

While Mike doesn’t have a specific favourite project, he takes pride in delivering each one with the same commitment to excellence, ensuring clients feel proud of their spaces.

A typical day for Mike is fast-paced and challenging. It starts with briefing the team on the day’s goals and targets, followed by solving problems as they arise and negotiating with trades to keep progress on track. His skill in turning reluctance into results is key to his success.

Mike’s favourite workspace? His van. It’s his go-to for tools, materials, and even a quiet space to think through solutions.

Outside of work, Mike treasures time with his family and enjoys tackling red routes on his mountain bike. In fact, he rides further on his bike each year than he drives his car!

His dream superpower? Making all the difficult subcontractors disappear.

Nick C Senior Contracts Manager

Nick is the Senior Contracts Manager at Opus 4, where he enjoys being involved in every aspect of a project, from procurement to working closely with the end user. He finds great satisfaction in delivering successful outcomes for clients.

The project Nick is most proud of is Onyx Sunderland, which presented unique challenges but delivered exceptional results.

A typical day for Nick involves a lot of problem-solving, phone calls, and driving between sites. His role requires a hands-on approach to addressing onsite challenges and ensuring projects stay on track.

Nick’s favourite part of the office is the kitchen—a central hub for recharging during busy days.

Outside of work, Nick loves spending time with his family, including his three young children. He’s also a devoted football fan, cheering for Manchester United whenever he gets the chance.

His dream superpower? Invisibility, which would undoubtedly come in handy during a hectic day. A fun fact about Nick: He claims he can predict the future—an impressive skill for a contracts manager! Nick’s favourite quote is: “Carpe Diem,” meaning “Seize the day.”

Mike K Senior Quantity Surveyor

Mike is a Senior Quantity Surveyor at Opus 4. His primary role involves ensuring projects are delivered within budget, collaborating with Fit Out Project Managers, and reviewing variations to maximise profits while providing cost savings for clients. He enjoys seeing projects through from start to finish and finding cost-effective solutions that benefit both the client and the company.

The project Mike is most proud of is the RWE Staythorpe Project. This high-value, multi-phase project is one of the largest at Opus 4 and involves work on a live power station. Mike has played a key role in managing variations, maximising profits, and delivering quality work that is highly appreciated by the client.

A typical day for Mike involves reviewing Profit & Loss summaries, discussing changes or unforeseen works with Fit Out Managers, preparing cost breakdowns, and submitting interim valuations to clients for approval and invoicing.

His favourite part of the office is the hot desking setup, which encourages collaboration and flexibility, and the supportive, friendly team environment.

Outside of work, Mike enjoys hiking and getting outdoors. He supports his wife’s women’s outdoorwear brand by organising group hikes in and around the Peak District.

His dream superpower? Teleportation—so he can skip the tedious parts of getting to his favourite locations.

A fun fact about Mike: at 20, he spent four months in Saskatoon, Canada, playing rugby for a local team while working as a flooring contractor.

Mike’s favourite quote comes from The Imitation Game: “Sometimes it is the people no one can imagine anything of, who do the things no one can imagine.” In work, his personal mantra is: “Tell the Story,” a reminder to clearly explain the what, why, and how behind project changes to clients.

Nick R Electrical Projects Manager

Nick is an Electrical Projects Manager at Opus 4. He enjoys being part of a small, close-knit team while collaborating with the wider design team when needed.

Nick is particularly proud of projects featuring exposed ceilings with technical lighting designs. Although they require extra effort, the results are always worth it.

A typical day for Nick is varied and busy. He might be driving, in the office, working from home, onsite, quoting, designing, project managing, or in meetings with clients and contractors.

Nick’s favourite part of the office is the breakout area, where he can relax and recharge.

Outside of work, he loves going away in his VW campervan, hill walking, and enjoying a pint in a country pub. His dream superpower? An unlimited supply of energy.

A fun fact about Nick: he’s a big fan of Mexican food, especially when in Mexico.

Howard Electrical Project Manager

Howard is an Electrical Project Manager at Opus 4, where he enjoys being involved in every stage of a project, from pricing to the finishing touches.

The project he’s most proud of is Highbankside Stockport, where the defurb look highlights the electrical installation beautifully.

A typical day for Howard is never the same, with each week bringing something new and exciting.

His favourite part of the office is working face-to-face with the Opus team whenever he gets the chance, as much of his time is spent onsite or on the road.

Outside of work, Howard loves mountain biking and spending time in the great outdoors. His dream superpower? The ability to fly.

Katie Electrical Development Manager

Katie is the Electrical Development Manager at Opus 4, where she manages project budgets, gathers quotes, and sends purchase orders to subcontractors and wholesalers. She’s also responsible for Electrical RAMS and O&M documentation, ensuring every project runs smoothly.

Katie’s favourite part of the office? The snacks in the kitchen—always a highlight!

Outside of work, Katie loves going on holiday, with Las Vegas being her absolute favourite destination. Her dream superpower? Teleportation, so she can travel the world in an instant.

Abi Operations Manager

Abi is the Operations Manager at Opus 4. She enjoys the variety her role offers and values working with all the teams across the company. A key part of her job is finding ways to improve processes, which means every day is different as she collaborates with different teams to discover better ways of working.

The project Abi is most proud of is achieving the ISO 9001 accreditation for Opus 4. It was her first major project and a real milestone, made possible through the support of the whole team.

A typical day for Abi can vary depending on the project she’s focused on. She splits her time between monitoring the operational side of fit-out projects to ensure compliance and working on the development of a new internal system.

Her favourite part of the office is the collaborative workspace, where teams mix and sit together rather than being divided by departments.

Outside of work, Abi loves spending quality time with friends and family, going for walks, or hunting for new coffee shops to fuel her coffee addiction.

If Abi could choose one superpower, it would be teleportation, so she could avoid being stuck in traffic or crowded public transport.

Bryony Health & Safety Manager

Bryony has recently joined Opus 4 as the new Health & Safety Manager. She’s eager to get stuck in and make a positive impact.

What drew Bryony to Opus 4 was the company’s approach to work and its strong focus on Health and Safety. She was impressed by the team’s attitude towards their work and each other.

A typical day for Bryony involves a mix of office time and site visits. She enjoys seeing both sides of the fit-out process, from the planning and pre-construction work behind the scenes to visiting sites and watching the project come to life.

Her first impression of the office is very positive. She loves being in the heart of the city in a beautiful building. Bryony is excited about the new office design and says all she can say is WOW.

Outside of work, Bryony loves making memories with her husband and children. She enjoys reading and is passionate about all things Disney, Autumn, and Harry Potter.

If Bryony could choose a superpower, it would be to pause or go back in time. She’d love to visit New Orleans in the 1920s.

A fun fact about Bryony is her love of sloths and llamas. She’s walked llamas and fed a sloth, but holding one is still on her bucket list.

Her favourite quote is: “You don’t have the power to change what happens in life, but you have the power to control your reaction to it.” Bryony believes that while life isn’t always perfect, how you respond can instantly make you happier and more positive.

Callum Financial Controller

Callum is the Financial Controller at Opus 4. He’s excited by the chance to make a difference and help the company thrive.

His first impression of the office is very positive. The team has been welcoming and made him feel at home straight away. He finds the workspace comfortable, and the three screens are a big help.

Outside work, Callum enjoys watching most sports that involve a ball, playing football, going to the pub with friends, and having a nice meal out with his partner.

If he could choose a superpower, it would be teleportation, so he could spend every weekend in a new place.

His favourite quote is: “A good laugh can cure a thousand ailments.”

Andrew Junior Project Manager

Andrew has recently joined Opus 4 as a Junior Project Manager and is excited to take on a more hands-on role compared to his previous positions. His day-to-day is already shaping up to be a varied mix of in-office work, site visits, and ongoing training giving him the perfect opportunity to get stuck into projects and develop his skills.

What attracted Andrew to Opus 4 was the positive and welcoming atmosphere, as well as the passion and dedication of the team. He’s looking forward to working alongside people who are genuinely enthusiastic about what they do and being part of a collaborative environment.

Outside of work, Andrew is a big sports fan, following a variety of sports and playing American Football in his spare time. A fun fact about Andrew? He has an irrational fear of octopi.

If he could have any superpower, Andrew would choose mind-reading, curious to know what’s going on in other people’s heads. His favourite piece of advice? “The best way to improve is to aim to be 1% better every day.”

Amber Executive Assistant

With a keen eye for organisation and a passion for streamlining workflows, Amber plays a pivotal role in supporting the management team with their day-to-day tasks. Amber also provides essential administrative support across various departments, ensuring everything behind the scenes runs smoothly.

She was drawn to Opus 4’s commitment to balancing workplace culture and environment, recognising that small changes can make a big difference in both productivity and well-being. Since joining, she’s been focused on learning the ropes and integrating seamlessly into the team.

Outside of work, she’s recently taken up Salsa lessons, enjoying the challenge of improving coordination and building confidence. She also admits to having watched New Girl more times than she’d like to admit, calling it her ultimate comfort show. If she could have any superpower, it would be pyrokinesis – both for the cool factor and for never needing to pay a heating bill again!

One piece of advice she lives by comes from We Bought A Zoo:

“Sometimes all you need is twenty seconds of insane courage. Just literally twenty seconds of just embarrassing bravery. And I promise you, something great will come of it.”
