What happens next?

If you’ve recently received a fit out quotation, the next stage is usually focused on review and refinement before decisions are finalised.

Most clients use this time to look through the detail, share the proposal internally and consider what needs to happen next. It’s a normal pause point, and an important one.

This guide sets out what typically happens after a quotation is issued, and how we can support you through this stage.

Reviewing the proposal

At this point, many people start with the headline cost, then move into the detail.

It’s worth reviewing the scope, assumptions, programme and any exclusions, as these help set clear expectations from the beginning. This is also the right time to identify anything that needs refining.

Clarification now often prevents delays further down the line.

Internal conversations and approvals

Once a quotation has been shared, it’s often reviewed by others internally.

That may include finance teams, senior stakeholders or landlords, depending on the project. These conversations can take time, particularly where approvals or budget alignment are required.

Refining scope and answering questions

Most projects involve some level of refinement after the initial quotation.

This might include confirming layouts, reviewing finishes, adjusting programme dates or working through cost options. Raising questions early helps keep everything clear and helps to provide you with confidence that the detail is right before moving forward.

Nothing is expected to be finalised immediately. This stage is about getting the right outcome, not rushing decisions.

Programme and timing

Once the proposal is agreed, the next steps are usually confirmed quickly.
This can include final design development, procurement planning, and setting the delivery programme. Some elements can run alongside each other, helping maintain momentum without unnecessary pressure.

Clear communication at this stage helps protect both programme and cost later.
